Small Group Bike Class Interest List 🚲

Want a Small Group Class? Let Me Know You’re Interested!

Atlanta Bicycle Classes is forming Saturday and Sunday Small Group Bike Classes for adults and children who want professional instruction at a lower cost than private lessons.

Classes are intentionally small, 4 to 5 riders at a similar skill level, so everyone can receive personalized coaching while enjoying the encouragement and fun of learning with others.

You do NOT have to wait for a class date to be posted.

If you want to participate, join the Small Group Interest List now.

There is no payment required to join the Interest List.

πŸ‘‰ JOIN THE SMALL GROUP INTEREST LIST — Complete the Assessment & Waiver

Once I have 4–5 riders at a similar skill level with compatible availability, I’ll contact everyone with a proposed Saturday or Sunday class date and time.

If the date works for you, you can then confirm and pay to reserve your spot.

Which Small Group Is Right for You?

We currently offer two Small Group tracks based on your riding ability.

🚲 TRACK 1: Balance & Glide — True Beginners

For riders who are not yet pedaling independently.

This group is for you if you:

  • Cannot ride a bicycle yet
  • Are still learning to balance
  • Are working on scooting and gliding
  • Need help with braking and stopping
  • Are beginning to work toward pedaling
  • Feel nervous or unsure on a bicycle
  • Haven’t ridden in many years and need to rebuild foundational skills

You do not need to know how to pedal before joining this group.

We’ll work step-by-step on the skills that lead toward independent riding.

Learning to ride is not a race.

🚲 TRACK 2: Pedal & Practice — New Riders

For riders who CAN already balance and pedal but need more practice.

Maybe you recently learned to ride and are thinking:

“I can ride, but I don’t feel confident yet.”

This group is for you!

Once you learn to pedal, the next step is getting practice, repetition, confidence, and miles on the bike.

We may work on:

  • Starting independently
  • Smoother stopping and braking
  • Steering and bike control
  • Turning
  • Looking ahead while riding
  • Riding for longer periods
  • Building endurance
  • Riding around other cyclists and pedestrians
  • Becoming more relaxed on the bike
  • Developing confidence through repetition

The goal is to move from “I learned how to ride” to “I feel comfortable riding my bike.”

Not Sure Which Group You Belong In?

That’s okay!

You don’t have to figure it out yourself.

Complete the Assessment & Waiver and tell me about your riding experience. I’ll help determine whether Balance & Glide or Pedal & Practice is the best fit for you.

How the Interest List Works

STEP 1 — Tell Me You’re Interested

Complete the Atlanta Bicycle Classes Assessment & Waiver.

Select the Small Group Class option and tell me:

  • Your current riding ability
  • Your Saturday/Sunday availability
  • Whether you have your own bicycle
  • Whether you need a bike rental
  • Anything else that will help me support you as a learner

Joining the Interest List is FREE.

There is no payment required until you are offered a class date that works for you.

STEP 2 — I Build Your Group

I will match riders based on:

Skill Level + Availability

My goal is to create groups of 4–5 riders who are working on similar skills.

STEP 3 — You Receive a Class Invitation

Once I have enough riders for your group, I’ll contact you with a proposed:

Date + Time + Class Track

You can decide whether that particular class works for you.

STEP 4 — Confirm & Pay

If the date and time work for you, submit payment to reserve your place.

Then you're officially in the class! 🚲

Small Group Pricing

$75 per rider

Bring your own properly sized bicycle.

$95 per rider with Bike Rental

Includes your class and bicycle rental.

Helmet Rental — FREE

Limited supply available.

We strongly encourage riders to eventually purchase their own properly fitted helmet.

Why Only 4–5 Riders?

The goal is not to create a large bicycle class.

The goal is to create a small, supportive learning environment.

With 4–5 riders, students can:

  • Receive professional instruction
  • Get individual feedback
  • Learn from watching other riders
  • Encourage one another
  • Practice alongside people at a similar level
  • Receive more attention than they would in a large workshop
  • Pay considerably less than the cost of private instruction

And something special often happens when beginners learn together:

Seeing someone else succeed can help you believe you can do it too.

Bring a Friend!

Know someone who has always wanted to learn to ride?

Invite them to join the Interest List with you!

Your:

  • Friend
  • Partner
  • Child
  • Parent
  • Sibling
  • Neighbor
  • Coworker

might be exactly the person who helps us complete your group.

The sooner we have 4–5 compatible riders, the sooner we can schedule your class.

Already Have Your Own Group?

Even better!

If you already know 4–5 people at a similar riding level who want to learn together, contact Coach Sha.

We may be able to create a Saturday or Sunday Small Group Class specifically for your group.

Have 2 or 3 riders already?

Join the Interest List anyway. I may already have other students waiting who can complete your group.

What If I Need More Individual Support?

Small groups aren't the best starting point for every rider — and that's okay.

A Private Lesson may be a better choice if you:

  • Need significant one-on-one attention
  • Experience substantial anxiety around cycling
  • Want to progress more quickly
  • Need a highly individualized teaching pace
  • Have learning or sensory needs that are easier to support one-on-one
  • Need more flexibility with scheduling

You can start privately and move into a Small Group Class when you're ready.

Your Riding Journey Can Grow With You

Learning to pedal doesn't have to be the end of your bicycle education.
