🧠 FAQs
❓When Is My Child Ready?
There’s no "perfect age" — just readiness and interest. Most kids are ready by age 5. We work at your child’s pace. If they would rather play on the playground or chase butterflies, I do not force children to ride a bike. They will want to learn when they are ready. Or maybe they are ready for a short lesson which is perfectly fine.
🧩 Can Special Needs Kids Learn Too?
Absolutely. We're *patient, experienced, and follow your child's lead. We encourage breaks, mindfulness, and gentle progress.
🧳 What Should I Bring?
- Your child's bike (must fit the child and be safe and working! NO TRAINING WHEELS)
- A helmet(bring your own or rent)
- Water & snacks
- Signed waiver (we’ll email it!)
🚲How to make sure the bike you have fits your child?
-It's critical to find a bike that fits your child. Make sure they can stand over the top tube with both feet planted on the ground. Avoid getting a bike that is too large, hoping your child will grow into it, because it will be harder for them to handle and control. (A slightly smaller bike is preferable to one that is too big.) Many kids worry about falling when they first learn to ride a bike; if they're able to step down when they need to, this will ease some of those concerns.
-Check the reach—that's the distance from the bike seat to the handle bars. The child should be able to reach the handlebars without leaning too far forward. If the bike has hand brakes, make sure the child can comfortably reach and squeeze them.
👖 Please dress your child in:
- Closed-toe sneakers
- Long pants or leggings
- No baggy clothes or high ponytails/buns or hard headbands
⏳ How Many Lessons Will They Need?
- Many ride in 1–3 lessons
- Most feel confident + safe in 4–6
We’re not just teaching how to pedal — we’re teaching road awareness and safe decision-making too.
👫 Can Two Kids Learn Together?
Maybe! If both learners are laid back and encouraging, it can work. But competitive siblings? Better to learn separately. Fees are per child whether solo or together.
💛 What If My Child Has Anxiety or Trauma?
We’ll take it slow and celebrate every win. For highly sensitive kids, we recommend starting with a 6-lesson package and checking in after each session.
📍 Where Are Lessons Held?
Most sessions are taught at:
- Lionel Hampton Trail 30311 - Entry Willis Mill off MLK https://shorturl.at/md6yl
Once your child is riding confidently, we may venture onto the Westside Beltline together!

💬 Parent Testimonial
“Shakeesha worked her magic with my son. Her kind, relaxed, very present style and skills were a perfect match. He’s proud and thrilled to be riding a bike now!
We’ll finally have a new family activity — and he already asked how far from home he can go! I know you probably hear this all the time, but I had to share — thank you!”
— A happy Atlanta mom
